The 23rd Annual Mille Lacs Crossing

"Minnesota's Ultimate Challenge"

Margot, Paul and I are off to the USA this weekend to another Windsurfing Regatta. 'The Crossing' is a wide open race across the lake, with as many as 100 windsurfers competing!! As you can see from the picture, you cannot see land looking across the lake :) Kind of intimidating the first time you see Mille Lacs Lake, but with safety being the number one priority in the organizing of the event, it's very calming to know you'll be watched, and looked after in the event of an equipment malfunction.
We'll be thinking of our friends/family who couldn't make it this year with us....although some equipment from Guin, Strat and Link will be making the trip. Let's see if the Borrow-Link's-Gear-Success-Streak keeps going ;-)
This is such a fun event, and a really nice way to cap off the end of another fantastic year on the water!!
Kudos to my Big Bro Al for looking after our kids while we're sailing our butts off!!

YAHOOO!!

We'll be cheering for all 3 of you.
Show our American neighbours how Canuck's rock.

Oh, the kid's are easy to look after. I just duct tape all of them to the couch for 2 days. smiley

Have a safe trip, meet new friends, and have a blast.

That's a really cool picture of the lake. I gotta post pictures on my blog more often. It makes it more interesting.

Good luck in the race you three!

Your'e right Guin. Images rule. I think they set the tempo or mood of your post.
I sorta look at it as entertainment.
I quess I'm a little unforgiving on the dial-up folk. Too bad.

I've got to use the duct tape idea more often,
that sounds like an easy plan. Thanks Alan for taking the kids.
The pic of the lake is an awesome shot and scares the heck out of me!

Looks like the "borrow gear" trick worked again Woody. Congrats on the #1 finish.
Way to go Schwaby, we knew you could do it!!
By the looks of that lake, I think it would be the end of the weekend before I made it across.

Welcome home sailors!
Shan.
