Still the Champs

For the fourth year in a row, the parents are still 'going strong' at the annual Parent/Kid hockey game we have at the Link's house. Link builds a superb rink on the lake, complete with lights and homemade nets. He also lets us use his sauna to warm up and put on our skates. The game this year was looking for awhile like the kids were finally going to beat us when they had a 8-3 lead, but us 'old farts'(kids expression) bared down and squeaked out a 20-14 win! Link said there was never any doubt in who would win the game, as he'd placed a penny (too cheap to put a loonie) at center ice for luck. "The ice makers secret" he claims. This night was so much fun! What a way to start out the New Year! Best of all, it was Link, flashing his hockey brilliance to secure us old farts victory!!
Have fun ![]()

I will definetly learn how to skate for next years game, or maybe be at least a goal post or sumpting! Anybody sees some skates at a garage sale, size 9, get them for me please! Wait a minute, they might be even mine, Woody sold on me!!

Yay for hockey!
That must have been fun. Aren't you supposed to let the kids win? Nah, they're too cocky as it is.

Most of the kids are AA caliber hockey players, at their respective age groups of course, so giving them a break is not an option. It'll get to a point where the 'old farts' will be like "remember when we use to beat the kids every year"
We enjoy it while we can
