Ice Sailing

This is Larry from 'Team Iowa' ice sailing in the Des Moines area.
I also have such a board, but never had a chance to use it this winter due to the early snowfall. I'm hoping to try it this spring when the ice lifts. We'll be hooking up with Larry and the rest of Team Iowa at the 1st Annual Mille Lacs Kite Crossing at the end of the month. I've noticed that Larry rigged his boom upside down (hard to see in this image). This is considered back luck in the windsurfing world. I hope the tear in his second panel isn't the result of his upside down boom
Have fun ![]()

Falling on ice hurts more than falling on snow. That looks sorta dangerous, and therefore FUN!
Don't forget to invite me when you're going kiting on the 'goon!

I have to say it looks better on ice, then Woody skateboard/surfing on a paved parking lot of a big Trucker gas station. If you wanna get attention - you'll get it there!

I don't sail in parking lots to get attention. I sail in parking lots to get better at my jibes so when I go on the water I'll get the attention

I noticed that the boom was upside down right away. LOL

Surfy, we'll make sure your boom is right side up this summer, or maybe, I'll upside-down-it to see if you notice. hehehe

When I busted my knee my kite control bar was upside down. It happened with the kite still on the ground , the bar was secured with an ice-screw, as I was trying to buckleing my skiboot and fell over slowly to the side. Didn't know bad luck with the kitebar was also a fact. :) Got rid of one of the crutches today, now I am hoppeling arond a little better. Met with doctor this morning, he showed me some cool pics of the 20% of my meniscus that is still left. Hopefully I will recover fast. Can't wait to go kiting again.
