2005 Moosefest Windsurf Regatta
Paul and I racing to the finish line in race 2
Paul scooped me with less than 100m to go! What a great race!!
The Champions L-R
Woody-Open Class winner, Strat-Sport Class winner, Guin-Top female racer (2nd in Sport Class), and Larry from "Team Iowa" winner of the Formula Class.
Roland Rioux(2nd Open class) receiving the oldest competitor award.
What a great competitor AND entertainer. Great work Roland!
9yr old Daniel Muller from Thunder Bay being our youngest competitor. Wow! What a trooper out on the water! Daniel sailed all day long on his Starsurfer/2m sail. Way to go lil' brah!!
WOW!! Where to start!? The 2005 edition of the Moosefest Windsurfing Regatta was an unbelievable experience. We had so many dedicated wonderful friends to make this regatta happen the way it did. Team Iowa travelling 14 hrs to attend!! Roland Rioux from Winnipeg, repacking his van just 3 hrs after returning from a month long Gorge vacation to make the trek to Dryden!! The Thunder Bay contingent drivng the 350km for the event!! My sister Guin, flying all the way from Toronto to make the start line!! So nice to see her again! To the local sailors for sailing their butts off in some challenging conditions. My big Bro Al for his hospitality and being our official photographer for the weekend!! Wow, so many great pictures!! My wonderful wife Schwaby for just being the super host she is. Great work!! To my great friends for helping out in so many different ways!! THANK YOU guys and gals!! This really means alot to me...
Stay Cool

Worthington Windsurfers salute Woody and Team Canada! You guys were a great addition to the regatta and festival. (For those of you back in Canada) They were surprizing well behaved.
They seized the day when it came to sailing & photo op's, (including one they haven't seen yet) Recently submitted to Windsurfing Magazine.
Next year, bring the Canadian Flag, we'll find a place of prominence.
The year long effort of regatta and festival planning has its rewards when folks like you show up!

Congrat's to all who participated.
It was a fun weekend. Lots of pints and lots of food.
I couldn't believe how fast some of you were going.
Makes snapping pics from a boat somewhat tricky.
Hope to see everyone again next year.
Cheers......

Wow, where to start... My first trip to Canada and Dryden with the Moosefest Regatta was an unbelievable experience. Thanks so much to all the Woodies and their great hospitality, great friends and fun sailing. I had a blast the whole time. The sailing part was great but just the bonus when you get to hang out with such quality friends like you guys. Can't wait to come back next year again. We made it back safly to the US and Des Moines, IA. Saw 2 bears and some deer on the way but no problems at all. Thanks again, can't wait to see you guys at Madeleine Island in a few weeks.

Just thought I'd let you know that we all arrived safe and sound wwwwwaaaayyy up north. Drove 6 hours the first day and 8 the second. Had a quiet night last night, hanging out today with a practice at 2:00 and game one at 7:00. The sun doesn't go down until 11:00pm and of course I missed the sunrise time. We'll keep you posted.

Woody, it is now official, I registerd my sail number, it is pretty unique USWE 22. US for the USA, SWE is what Swedish sailors have, so combine them and you get USWE 22. :) Can't wait for Madeleine Island trip. Leaving in 9 days. I am thinking of skipping my road trip and go to Oregon for the FE Worlds event Aug 1-6 in Hood River. That would be fun...
