Christmas Tree Time !!
On the weekend we drove about 10 miles north of Dryden to a little trail in the forest where we've been getting our Christmas tree for the past few years. This year our good friends the Surfer's come along to get a tree for themselves. Well, I'll-tell-u-what (heavy Iowa farmer accent) I spotted our tree in only a few minutes!! A real beauty just off the trail. Good thing, as there was almost 2 feet of snow in the bush! While Strat scoured the forest for the 'perfect tree', we found ourselves walking deeper and deeper into the woods. Finally, he found 'it' hiding amongst four other trees. Then he told me: "Woody, thats the one". I said, are you sure? Strat said: "Woody, I know my trees, cut 'er down" This was truly a tree even the Griswald's would be proud of! So with my trusty powersaw, I fell the beast, and wacked off the top precisely where Strat wanted. Funny how 'big' a tree top looks until you actually have it laying on the ground. If you're ever in the area, stop by the Surfer's to check out their tree!
Margot did a wonderful job decorating our tree as you can see above!! Great work Schwaby!! It's starting to feel alot like Christmas...
Stay Cool

Just to let you know.......our tree is really 'skinny', to say the least. Could only put on a third of the decorations as there wasn't enough room for them all.
It's starting to look a lot like a "Charlie Brown Christmas"!

Merry Christmas to Windsurf Woody and the gang in Dryden. Great looking tree My those German girls know how to decorate. Great job Woodette. Our tree was much smaller this year. I chose to buy a 6 footer from one of the local tree farms. Had to put a few blocks under neath to make room for all Daniel's presents. We were so good this year that Santa brought us both new ski equipment. It will be Daniel's 1st time and 15 years since I've been on the slopes. He is very excited.I guess it will be snow boarding next. I think I prefer to fall in the water. much easier on the body and bones since I'm a bit older now. That's about it . Have a Fantastic New Year!!!!!!!!!

Hi;
That was a wonderful year, this past year, and THE Woodys seemed to have made the best of it. That is really a wonderful panoramic view of the year in review. It never seizes to amaze me how there is so much energy and goodness in that Dryden family. It is also wonderful to be included in that sharing. You guys are the best and I wish you an even {if possible} better 06 year.
Best wishes always,
Roland @ Margaret.

The tree trip was a lovely group off pics! I think the weather made all the trees extra special this year as they kept their moisture very well. We had a Charley Brown tree once when all the needles turned brown and fell off! All that was left were the branches!

Great bunch of pics for the tree hunt! I like the one of Jeremy contemplating his tree and the lovely feeling of all the snow on the trees! Merry Christmas to all !
