Well we've just finished up a really fun 3 day sports/trade show to promote our new windsurfing club N.O.W. and holy cow what a success it has been so far! Over 50 people have signed up for lessons! Cool eh!
The concept behind the windsurfing club is to get people on the water enjoying this great sport we do, without having to purchase gear right away. The Club has NEW JP Boards and Neil Pryde for members to get started out. The Club also has some awesome kids gear available and we'll be focusing alot of our energy with the youth for sure.
Of course the immediate success of The Club wouldn't be possible without the GENEROUS donation of gear from our friend and fellow windsurfer Stu Vandervaart who owns the local Canadian Tire store here in Dryden. Stu was not only instrumental in getting the club up and running, he has picked himself up a new Mistral Prodigy(complete with 8.5 rig), a carbon JP 180 with a Neil Pryde 7m Solo rig and a JP Young Gun with a 2.5m Neil Pryde One rig for his kids. He's super stoked to get out on the water with his family and also to get to the 'next level' of windsurfing!!

Really looking forward to an active summer on the water with friends and new members of The Club!!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk about makin' it happen! Just got back from Maui when someone forwarded me this note. I am jealous of you guys there. I have tried hard over the years to get aclub going and generate more interest but we have not had much luck here. Gonna have to give it another go. My employer here Bowater just finished cutting about 200 jobs. I am still safe for now. Doubt if I will see retirement through my workplace. If the mill winds up in time, may have to look at cashin' in the chips movin' to Dryden, if they will have me???? Just kidin'... Good luck with the new venture and see ya/talk to ya soon. Oh yes nice wheels Woodette. Since Brad has "The Blue Moose" i am assuming that this is your girl/boy toy. Are you going to be takin' him on any windsurfin' trips?

Anyway, take care.....tbayray

No smile please, we're Southern Ontarians.
Very impressive website and plans to start up a club with over 50 applications to learn the sport! North-West Ontario is showing us how it can be done.

Congratulations and call us if there is any way at all Windsurfing Canada can be of help.
