The Boy's
Well, this past weekend we were supposed to be in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin for the Windpower Windsurfing Championships, but with Margot's business being so busy (a good thing), we didn't have time to make the 12 hr drive...as is in life, always have a back up plan!
A bunch of hockey guys from our Old Timers Hockey League were going on their annual trip 'north' for fishing, so I decided to tag along. Now you'd think we live far enough north already, but there are roads that go further north to lakes that are unspoiled by population and cottages. Lake Lac Seul is famous for fishing with world class fish available on every cast of your rod. We had a heck of a time just trying to bring back fish of legal size back to our campsite for eating! Everything we seemed to catch was too big!! Crazy!!
One of the guys brought up a pig for a Saturday night pig roast on a homeade rotisserie. This thing was awesome, except that the motor was burnt out and wouldn't turn the pig. This would have been the end of the pig roast under normal circumstances, but "fear not" we told the boys, "we are from the Great White North!" So Stu, Clint and myself "MacGyver'd" a trolling motor complete with duct tape for a pulley to turn the gears (I have a video of this I'll post a link to soon) to keep the little piggy cookin' for the next few hours. We even had a water jug dripping water at a quick rate to keep the motor cool. What a bunch of laughs!! Red Green would be proud of us for the imaginative use of duct tape! I'll tell ya, that pig was SOOO good when it was finished! Props to Clint for the fine craftsmanship of the rotisserie.
After a couple of days in the bush, about 80 walleye caught in our boat and 1 pig devoured, it was a time to remember for sure! I even managed to get windsurfing for a short time! What a weekend!!
Stay Cool ![]()

You guys just know how to have fun! Amazing that I have never experienced a whole lot of "inventions" in our kitchen to get dinner ready

Looks like lots of fun, laughs, good food, and great imaginations. Love the rotisserie! I bet everyone was nice and cozy in the Moose.

I saw your moose driving down the highway a day or so ago towing a boat and I wondered where you were headed (or coming back from) Looks like you had a great time!
