Hatteras Day 3
Getting ready to go out this morning. See my new blue helmet!
Margot practicing her water start technique on the dock. The bases are screwed to the deck.
Margot heading out to the island where she practiced her water starts all afternoon!
That's me coming in to the dock this morning
The water turns to 'liquid mercury' at the end of the day. Note the bigger sails
Me with a 9.0 on the Excocet Pacer 300. Real nice race board
Last nights hot tub with Marg and Uffe. I was solo in the afternoon
Sunsets are magical here off our balcony. Pic taken last night
Great Day!
We all scored some hours on the water with the lighter (30-50km) winds. I was cruisin' on a 5.2 and later on a 9.0 when the wind shut down. Woodette was workin' a 4.0m getting her water starts dialed. She did manage one good one, so she's pretty stoked! I was lazy in the afternoon, so I jumped in the hot tub by myself to warm my body up. It was rather cold at only 12 degrees! At the end of the day we went back to Ride Hatteras and grabbed some bigger gear for the lighter winds forecasted the next days. We now have a Exocet Pacer 300 (Hybrid class board), an Excocet Kona for cruisin' around and a 155l Exocet (something or other) freeride board.
Margot, Uffe and Jack are cooking salmon tonight so it should be good! Igor and I are cooking tomorrow night and decided to keep it simple...Shrimp & Beer!!
